Brand identity
Firth Primary School approached us with an exciting challenge: to create their first-ever school logo and a cohesive visual identity. While the school had a consistent colour palette of black, yellow, and a touch of dark green, they lacked a formal logo. Drawing inspiration from their iconic kōwhai trees, which adorn the school grounds, and the kōwhaiwhai pattern the students began designing, we developed a meaningful and vibrant brand identity. Our work went beyond a logo, encompassing everything from stationery, Google Docs letterheads, and student certificates, to on-campus signage and more. The result is a visual identity that reflects the school’s unique environment, culture, and community.

Central Kids, a trusted name in early childhood education, partnered with us to refresh their brand and align Mātauranga Ake more closely with its parent brand. Their goal was to bring new life, vibrancy, and cultural richness to their identity. To achieve this, we expanded their colour palette and designed a bespoke kōwhaiwhai pattern that highlights their connection to te ao Māori while keeping the design simple, bright, and approachable.
